Approach to Therapy; Stress Management and Adjusting to Change

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and problem focused. I strive to help my clients better understand themselves, and become more aware of how their thoughts influence their feelings and behavior. My goal is to help you find more effective ways to overcome problems, cope with life stresses and manage changes in your life.

Bipolar Disorder, Depression and Anxiety

I have much experience working with adults with Bipolar Disorder, Depression, and Anxiety Disorders. My focus is to: help you understand the impact of these conditions; help you find more effective ways to overcome and manage the symptoms of these disorders; and help you and your family learn to cope with the challenges these disorders pose. I draw heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my work with mood and anxiety disorders.

LGBTQ Issues

I understand the struggles and challenges that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and questioning people face. I will work with you to address the issues that are unique to the LGBTQ community, as well as any other concerns you have. Through professional development and continuing education, I am a culturally competent therapist and stay current with the latest trends in counseling LGBTQ clients.
