Coping with Life Transitions and Stresses
We all know what it is like to go through difficult or stressful times. While most of us have learned ways to cope with life’s stressors these methods may not always work. When this happens you may feel stressed out, angry, or sad. You may also have difficulties shaking off these feelings, and find that you are not functioning in the way you want to and need to. My focus is on helping you work through difficult times. I help people understand why they are stuck and assist them in finding new ways to cope with the transitions and stresses they are facing.
Parenting Concerns; Problems of Children and Adolescents; Self-esteem Issues
If you’re a parent, you may be called on to help your child address a problem he or she is having. Problems range from low self-esteem, peer issues, depression and anxiety, and behavior problems. I have over 10 years experience working with children, adolescents and families. I focus on helping parents find more effective ways to help their children while I work closely with children to assist them in understanding their behavior and finding healthier ways to cope with the stresses and challenges they are facing.
I also work with children and adolescents with more severe problems including children with attachment disorder and those who have suffered the impact of trauma.
Finding Opportunities in Difficult Times
I have worked with clients at all stages of life (children, adolescents, and adults). I am particularly interested in helping clients manage life transitions in ways that promote growth, increase self-awareness, and enhance self-esteem. I focus on helping my clients develop new and more effective relational and problem-solving styles and skills.
My Approach to Therapy
I am very dedicated to professional growth and participate in educational trainings and seminars regularly. I believe that this shows in my work as I strive to help you better understand yourself and make sense of the challenges that life often confronts us with.
